With ice fishing on hold due to higher than normal temps, fly fishing is still a viable option if you can keep your toes warm enough!
I had the pleasure of guiding a couple of former Mainers on New Year's Day. The river is still teeming with brook trout and salmon. With the right flies, you can get lots of hookups. The hard part is landing them on such small flies! We enjoyed a few hours on the river during the middle of the day. The fish were most active when the sun was shining. The highlight of my day was receiving some deer kielbasa from Dave and receiving compliments about the deer jerky that I made last week! - Aaron
