Before the state fisheries start stocking trout in our waters, it can be difficult to get into the holdover fish due to tough weather conditions, cold water and lack of bug activity.
Vince was able to get out yesterday and do a little scouting in Southern Maine. He fished buggers and nymphs as it was pretty windy and cold. Buggers are a great "go-to" fly this time of the year. He managed to bring one nice brown trout to hand on a river that is yet to be stocked. We offer a special trip during the week in Southern Maine for a discounted price. Give us a call if you'd like to learn some of these "closer to home" waters!
